2" Recycled Concrete is an environmentally friendly base material, often used in place of 2" minus products such as 2" Crusher Run or Granular B for more of a "Green" Option. This material primarily consists of crushed concrete and gravel ranging for 2" down to fines, that has been recycled from building foundations, road bases and other forms of construction. Most recycled concrete products also contain small percentages of crushed asphalt, brick, ceramics and other recycled materials. With excellent compaction this material makes for a great driveway base, road base, or parking lot base material. To cap the 2” recycled and allow for a smooth finish, a 3/4” minus recycled, limestone or gravel product can be placed and compacted on top before potentially laying asphalt.
